Adopt a Pet education spay & neuter Emergency FAQ About us

All animals at the City of Fort Worth adoption centers have had a health assessment and have been deemed adoptable by their professional staff. Additionally, every animal has been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and licensed by the City.

PetSmart Charities® Everyday Adoption Centers are a nationwide, collaborative initiative between PetSmart Charities and animal welfare organizations. Our goal is to save more homeless pets.

The City of Fort Worth operates two PetSmart Adoption Centers as an extension of the Chuck Silcox Animal Shelter. They are located near I-20 @ Hulen and I-35W at Heritage Trace Parkway. These adoption centers provide space to house adoptable dogs and cats 24-hours a day. This frees up space at the Chuck Silcox Animal Shelter and provides greater exposure of adoptable pets to the public.

HSNT has found homes for hundreds of thousands of abandoned and abused animals. HSNT places animals into loving adoptive homes each year. Potential adopters are carefully screened and counseled before an adoption is ever approved. We pride ourselves on choosing quality over quantity when it comes to adoptions. All adopted animals are inoculated against diseases, received an initial treatment for parasites, altered, and microchipped before going home.

The DFW Cares web site is the place to find, meet and greet everyone in the Dallas and Fort Worth and surrounding areas of Texas who are interested in the rescue, health, and care of needy canines in the Metroplex.

The Saving Hope Foundation has partnered with the City of Fort Worth’s Animal Care and Control and the Humane Society of North Texas  to establish the Fort Worth Partnership for Pets.

Through this partnership, we have realized the need to reduce the immense pressure on the shelters and target the over population problem at its source. Simply: Stop reproduction – stop overpopulation – and end euthanasia.
